Recipe for stew with cornstarch noodles (guisado)

  1. Use cold water to wash the cornstarch noodles and put them in a bowl (do not soak). Do not wash with hot water as the product has been cooked. Wait for 3-5 minutes (or longer) until the cornstarch noodles soften and are ready to be used.
  2. Heat one spoon of oil in  a wok and add green onion, shrimp, pork and mixed begetables according to taste. Add salt and soy sauce and fry till done. Add approx. 1,5 cup of water for one package to obtain a thick stew.
  3. When the stew i sready, add the softened cornstarch noodles and stir-fry until the water is absorbed. Add a spoon of oil to enhance the taste.
  4. If you want to serve as a soup, increase the amout of water used.
